As promised last week, today we continue with an idea from “Conversations with God,” Book 3 by Neale Donald Walsch. In it, Neale asks God: “Is our planet doomed?” And God responds: “I can’t predict your future for you.”
Neale: “What will happen?”
God: “Everything will happen. Because everything has already happened. All possibilities already exist, and all possible outcomes have already occurred.”
Now Neale Donald Walsch is a bit confused—perhaps just like you. God continues:
“Have you ever watched a child play a computer game on a CD-ROM?”
“Yes,” replies Neale.
“Have you then wondered how the computer knows how to respond to every move the child makes with the joystick or mouse?”
“Yes, I have indeed wondered about that.”
“It’s all on the CD-ROM. The computer knows how to respond to every movement the child makes because every conceivable move is already on the CD-ROM, along with the necessary feedback on what happens in the game as a result.”
“That’s spooky. It sounds almost unbelievable,” Neale responds.
“Every ending and every twist, every move that can lead to that ending, is already programmed on the CD-ROM. There’s nothing spooky about it. It’s just technology. And if you think the technology of video games is amazing, wait until you see the technology of the universe. Think of the cosmic wheel as a CD-ROM. All possible endings (of your life, of humanity, of the Earth…) already exist. The universe is just waiting for you to choose which one you’ll experience this time. And when the game is over, whether you’ve won, lost, or tied, the universe asks you, ‘Do you want to play again?’ Your CD-ROM doesn’t care whether you win or not. You can’t hurt the CD-ROM’s feelings. It just gives you the option to play again, as many times as you want. All possible endings already exist, and which one you experience depends on the decisions you make in each moment.”
“Wow. So, God is nothing more than a CD-ROM?”
God laughs. “I wouldn’t put it that way. Life is like a CD-ROM. All possibilities already exist, and everything has already happened. Now it’s up to you to choose which one you want to experience in this game. That brings us back to your question: ‘Is our world doomed?’ Some seers look through a window into the future and predict our doom. The question is, which future did they see? There is more than one version of the end. In one version, the Earth is wonderful and peaceful. In another version, it’s not. Everything is happening simultaneously in the here and now. Time doesn’t exist. Just as on the CD-ROM, everything happens in the same moment. So, if you like the doomsday mood of some seers, focus all your energy on it, and you can draw a lot of it into your life. And if you want to focus on a different reality, go that way, and you’ll draw that outcome to you. People will determine how the game continues and eventually ends through their thoughts, words, and actions.”
For those who think this is all spiritual nonsense—take a look at quantum physics, for example, the work of Albert Einstein and other geniuses of this world. “Everything is relative,” Einstein said. It’s always just a matter of perspective whether I see something as good or bad, right or wrong. And depending on how I personally perceive it, the more of it I create, because I engage with it in thoughts, words, and actions. Therefore, we humans hold our game in our own hands. And if you’re still waiting for politics to pull the cart out of the mud, you may be waiting a long time.
It’s up to you to be a positive role model in your own environment. What will help us now to achieve a different game ending is a ripple effect that starts from within and spreads outward. And it begins with you. And with me. Every day anew. Will we be able to turn the tide? We’ll see when the time comes. It’s over when it’s over. And not a second earlier. Until then, I at least wake up every day with laughter and joy and do my best to inspire one heart after another to find more enthusiasm and joy in their own lives. Are you part of the solution, or still part of the problem? Choose wisely, because your life could depend on it.
