If I’m to believe many coaches and consultants, the key is to push through, give it your all, and never stop until you’ve made it. No matter what. Because at the end of the day you are only something when you get something. Go for Gold. That reminds me of the movie Cool Runnings.

“A gold medal is a wonderful thing. But if you’re nothing without it, you’ll be nothing with it.”

What a powerful line. It shows that our personal worth doesn’t come from external achievements like a gold medal. At first, Derice is obsessed with the idea that winning will change his life. But Irv, who once won gold himself, teaches him that true worth comes from within – not from accolades. Sure, the gold medal in Cool Runnings symbolizes success and recognition, but the real core of the story is this: staying true to yourself and your values is what makes real success possible.

Are you staying true to what you pursue each day – to your values and beliefs? Or are you regularly selling yourself out for some kind of external success?

Here’s a beautiful question to ask yourself: When is it enough? Because chasing more, faster, bigger – at all costs – probably hasn’t brought you inner peace. Do you really believe there’s a point where suddenly everything just feels right?

Will Smith once said in an interview: “I was at the top. I had the money, the admiration, the fame – all of it. But it didn’t make me truly happy. You know, nothing feels better than being useful to others. That’s it! The only thing that will ever truly satisfy you is being useful.”

That reminds me of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s recent book, Be Useful. That’s what his father always told him: “Arnold, whatever you do – be useful.” In my talks, I love showing the trailer for 100 Years of Disney. There’s a scene from a Marvel movie where someone says: “The world is in our hands. We have to do something with it.” And that’s exactly the message I want to share with you (and all of us) this week.

What are we doing with this world – and within it? What kind of role model are we – for ourselves and for others? Millions of followers, likes, money. But at what cost? Burnout, panic attacks, the fear of no longer being seen or liked. Is it really worth it?

Work on your inner world. That’s why I get up every day – to help leaders and people reconnect with that inner compass. Why? Because I know what it feels like to chase success from a place of external validation – hoping that someone, finally, will see your worth.

But let’s be honest: You should never outsource your worth to others. That kind of dependency will always keep you small. Take your power back. I’m here to support you. Because: A gold medal is a wonderful thing. But if you’re nothing without it, you’ll be nothing with it.
