“I have absolutely no idea for a great inspiration for Sunday,” I tell Anke two days ago while we were in Nordfjordeid, Norway, in the harbor. “Let go, and something will come to you,” is Anke’s response. Well, that should be easy at the pool with sunshine and 21 degrees. As my gaze sweeps over the pool area, I see a girl in her blue swimsuit slowly and carefully gliding down the steps into the (seemingly cold) pool. On her swimsuit are four words: “Happy Mind Happy Life.” And I already have my answer.
Motivational legend Tony Robbins once said in a workshop, “Thinking means asking yourself questions and answering them.” Do you ask yourself positive and meaningful questions? Because if you have a happy mind, a cheerful spirit, the result is also a cheerful life. My tip for today, which I bring you from my magnificent and perspective-changing workshops aboard the Mein Schiff: Fascinate yourself more with your desire than with the cause. Turn the often backward-directed questions into future-oriented ones. Do you still ask yourself things like “Why me?”, “Why does this happen to me?”, “Why does this happen at all?”? By doing so, you give more energy and focus to the cause, which is already in the past and may have made you less happy. Therefore, look exactly in the other direction. “What can I learn from this experience?”, “Where does this experience lead me?” and “How can I turn the current situation into an advantage for myself and others?”
With this short and very effective tip, I wish you a wonderful and beautiful week and remember that a Happy Mind also leads to a Happy Life.
