The day before yesterday one of my great mentors moved into a new sphere. Just a few weeks ago, Bob Proctor wrote me a very nice endorsement for my English book “I AM GRÄTER“.
“You were born rich. You have been blessed with infinite potential. Your job while you are here on earth is to tap into that deep and endless source of power to design a life that is worthy of you. It all starts with “I AM,” the most powerful and all-encompassing statement you can use to move you onto your path to greatness. Norman’s book, “I AM GRÄTER” provides you with the tools to help you step into a better and more fulfilling life that awaits you.”
Bob Proctor – Best-selling author of “You Were Born Rich”
Who are you? Can you give me a proper answer? In one of my workshops here on board of the Mein Schiff 1 cruise ship, I quoted another statement by Bob Proctor:
“I’m not who I think I am. I’m not who you think I am either. I am who I think you think I am.”
What Bob is trying to say is that we are not who we really are. We are also not the person my counterpart sees (because in order to be that person I would had to ask this person what he thinks about me). Rather, I am the person I think the other person thinks I am. Simply said; I look at someone and think I know what the other thinks about me. By how he looks, what he might not say or how he behaves towards me. We fantasize a story that usually has nothing to do with the truth. And coming from this story, we behave accordingly to please the other one even more. However, we often neither please the other person nor do we please ourselves.
Just be yourself. There is no one else you have to be. And honestly – there is no one else you can be.
