Everything is going to be fine in the end. Do you know this saying? Here in our workshops on board Mein Schiff 1, I keep noticing that some people lack exactly this belief. “Yeah, the positive thinking thing and imagining the goal might be a good thing, but…” Then comes a veeeery logical explanation of why it is the way it is.

Everything, really everything that exists on this planet outside of nature and will exist in the future, follows an idea or a thought. No table, no cooking pot, no car… just nothing, fell from the sky. Everything is based on an idea that was then implemented and put into action. Just like every march begins with the first step that always follows the thought “Go”.

“Norman, why is it, that I am not where I want to be in life yet? I’ve been doing all that imagining and positive thinking for quite a while now” I hear here and there. Do you know Steve Jobs? He said once: “You can only connect the dots in life backwards”. This means that many things will only make sense to you much later. What is happening right now has to happen that it prepares you for the next level that comes tomorrow, the day following tomorrow or sometime in the future. Like an apprenticeship. You train something today that you will need tomorrow.

If you’re not feeling well right now, let me ask you something. When do you learn and develop the most? When everything runs smoothly or when there’s a little step in the ground and you stumble? Well, by stumbling, you learn what you might pay more attention to your walkway in the future. When everything goes as usual, everything will be same same. No change, no development. Just living in the comfort zone.

I just want to remind you: Believe and trust. “What should I believe in and what should I trust Norman?” That everything is going to be fine in the end. What if today isn’t good? Then it’s not the end yet.

Feel free to print this quote from Oscar Wilde or write them down on a Post-IT:

“Everything is going to be fine in the end. If it´s not fine, it´s not the end.”

Many greetings from Porto and have a nice week.
