Last weekend, Anke and I were invited to Malta by Michael Landsberg. I had the opportunity to speak at the Landsberg Summer Congress and inspired VIP participants from around the world. Landsberg is Europe’s top address for non-invasive, first-class high-tech aesthetic products, and a global leader in skin treatment techniques for impressive improvements in skin appearance. In other words, the VIP-participants work with high-class products on wonderful humans to make them shine even brighter.
Since I can’t send you these amazing devices and applications via email, today I’d like to share with you an idea from my mentor, Bob Proctor, on how you can make people happier through a simple method.
It’s all about MMFI. Bob always said, “Imagine a post-it note on the forehead of the person in front of you and it reads MMFI. That’s all this person wants.” MMFI stands for “Make Me Feel Important.”
Why is it so important to consider and accept others as important? It’s simple: Each one of us longs for appreciation and recognition. Even if you think, “It doesn’t matter to me,” you still appreciate a genuinely meant compliment. When we feel good, our self-esteem and well-being increase. By making others feel important, we automatically reach their hearts and build even better and long-lasting relationships.
A sincere compliment can work wonders. Take a moment to compliment someone on their achievements, appearance, or personality. A simple “Thank you” or “You’ve done a great job” can make a significant difference in someone’s life. Or address the salesperson in the store by their name, which you can read on their name tag.
Another way to convey appreciation to others is by giving them your time and attention. Make space in your schedule to talk to a friend or spend time with a family member. Give them your full attention and be present.
Small acts of kindness also have a great impact. Give a smile, a kind gesture, or a small gift. Often, it’s the little things that have the biggest effect.
MMFI is not a one-time thing but a way of life. By making others feel important, you open your heart to more compassion, understanding, and loving relationships. And this has a positive effect on those around you. It’s a win-win situation for everyone involved.
In this spirit, we invite you to consciously choose MMFI and acknowledge the people around you as valuable and important. Who can you make feel valuable right now? Remember, MMFI thrives on action, not on plans to do it “tomorrow.”
